Page goals
A page goal counts the visits that reach a page, such as the one after a form is sent. It’s a path typed into the site’s settings.
A page goal is a path typed into the site’s settings. Every visit that reaches a page matching it counts as a conversion, with nothing to change on the site itself.
Adding one
In the site’s settings, under Goals, choose + Add a page goal. Type the page’s path, starting with
/, give it a name if you like, such as Signed up, and press Add. A site can have up to 20.
A page goal counts from the moment it’s added, as earlier visits can’t be counted again. An app connected over MCP can add one too, if you let it change settings.
Paths and patterns
A path matches the whole of a page’s path, without its query string. * stands for anything,
slashes included, or for nothing at all:
| Page goal | Counts | Doesn’t count |
|---|---|---|
/thanks | /thanks | /thanks/, /thanks/order |
/thanks/* | /thanks/, /thanks/order/42 | /thanks |
/*/welcome | /en/welcome, /shop/en/welcome | /welcome |
On a page with data-path, match the path it’s
counted under.
Hiding and removing
Hide a page goal under Goals in the site’s settings and it leaves the dashboard but keeps being counted, ready to show again. Remove it and everything it counted is deleted.
